Faithful To Me (an old song flashback)

Hi Folks,

It's been awhile since I've written anything super personal. I'm not sure how the old music search even started tonight. I began to look for old night club songs that I use to dance to when I was under age and going to dance clubs. Then suddenly, I remember a song from my favorite album at the time. I stole it from my good friend and it was often the only lyrics that brought me peace during a super rebellious and damaging time in my life. I remember it fondly now. The lyrics overwhelmed me. Often times they were the only words I could chant to fall asleep in such an unsure world. I share them with you tonight. They still bring me comfort and I pray that they bring you comfort tonight as well.

All the chisels I've dulled carving idols of stone
that have crumbled like sand 'neath the waves
I've recklessly built all my dreams in the sand,
just to watch them all wash away

Through another day, another trial
Another chance to reconcile
To One who sees past all I've seen,
and reaching out my weary hand,
I pray that you'd understand,
You're the only one who's faithful to me.

All the pennies I've wasted in my wishing well
I have thrown like stones to the sea.
I have cast my lots, dropped my guard, searched aimlessly,
for a faith to be faithful to me.

Through another day, another trial,
Another chance to reconcile
To One who sees past all I've seen,
and reaching out my weary hand,
I pray that you'd understand,
You're the only one who's faithful to me.
You're the only one who's faithful to me.

"Faithful to Me" (reprise) by Jennifer Knapp from the 1998 CD Kansas. Lyrics Included.
