Alcatraz Island, Ca

Mid-way through the Embarcadero, between the large piers, you'll find a small kiosk that host the tickets for the ferry to take you to Alcatraz Island. For about $30 bucks, you can hop on a ferry. Alcatraz Island is about two miles from the coast, and a gorgeous trip. 

The bay is breath taking, and you get a unique view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge too. 

As a local, I had never been to Alcatraz. But that seems to always be the case. 

No native does the touristy things ever in their own city, do they?
