Men of Salone
Yeah, I don’t have the typical photography portrait studio job. Granted being in Freetown, Sierra Leone already makes it a bit different than the portrait studios you would find in Willow Glen or in Hayes Valley back in the bay area.
These are the portraits I take on a daily basis. These are the men of Salone (Sierra Leone). Daily, people come into my make shift portrait studio of a plastic chair and a white curtain and we begin a dialogue.
Today a gentleman removed the scarf around his neck and exposed his goiter. Today, actually just moments ago, another man removed his plaid newsboy cap and revealed the enlarged tumor on his forehead.
